blah, I ahte non-bug posts... but here's my input.

anything to block a service on the target host is *too late* .... even
blocking at *your router* is too late... your line is already spammed.

Example:  Think of a ping with huge packets coming from a t1 or t3
connected host/network to a target 56kb link.... blocking at the
router or with hosts.deny isn't going to cut your line usage.

This is very apparent with 56kb and slower links.
